Math Slide: Place Value is an educational multiplayer game designed to assist children in comprehending the place value of numbers up to 1,000. Participants engage by sliding tiles into a central area to match images, answer questions, or solve equations. The School Edition is compatible with Apple’s Volume Purchasing Program for Education (VPP) and contains the same set of games as Math Slide: Tens & Ones and Math Slide: Hundred, Ten, One.

The game offers two modes of play. In Competition Mode, the participant who successfully slides all their tiles into the center first is declared the winner. Alternatively, Collaboration Mode encourages players to work together, sliding their tiles simultaneously with the shared goal of winning collectively.

Mastering the concepts of hundreds, tens, and ones is fundamental for advancing in mathematics. Many children find transitioning from counting to understanding number facts and place value challenging. This application aims to facilitate this critical progression by enabling children to visualize and internalize that the number 26 comprises 2 ‘tens’ and 6 ‘ones’, and that a number such as 813 can be represented as 7 ‘hundreds’, 11 ‘tens’, and 3 ‘ones’.

• Unlimited gameplay for each game

Instructions for gameplay:

1. Select either Competition Mode or Collaboration Mode
2. Choose a game from the available options
3. Participants join by pressing the ‘Join’ button
4. Initiate the game by pressing ‘Start Game’ and waiting for the countdown
5. Slide tiles into the center to match images, answers, or equations
6. The game concludes once all tiles are used or conditions are met

Tens & Ones:

• Game 1 – Representation of numbers up to 10
• Game 2 – ‘Ten and ...’ numbers such as 10+1, 10+2
• Game 3 – Numbers up to 20
• Game 4 – ‘Ten and ...’ combinations within this range
• Game 5 – Number words: ten and four, sixteen
• Game 6 – Representation up to 100
• Game 7 – Combining tens & ones: e.g., 10+2, 30+4
• Game 8 – Adding ten: e.g., 37+10 or 62+10
• Game 9 – Adding or subtracting ten: e.g., 37-10
• Game 10 – Incorporating one more or one less operations

Hundreds, Tens & Ones:

• Game 11 – Representation of numbers up to 1,000
• Game 12 – Decomposing into hundreds, tens & ones (e.g., 800+20+4)
• Game 13 – Combining hundreds with tens or ones separately
• Game 14 – Number words: six hundreds, two tens, five ones
• Game 15 – Representation within a thousand range
• Game 16 – Tallying tens within hundreds (e.g., 42 tens)
• Game 17 – Adding or subtracting multiples of ten or one from numbers like 37 or 62
• Game 18 – Adding and subtracting hundreds, tens, and ones individually
• Game 19 – Incrementing or decrementing by eleven, one hundred one, or one hundred ten
• Game 20 – Operations involving hundreds, tens & ones combined
